Web design across Wales
Distinct markets north and south, a strong tourism economy, and bilingual considerations that are easy to get wrong.
Wales is best understood as several markets. The south, around Cardiff, Newport and Swansea, is urban and services-led. Mid and west Wales are rural, with agriculture and tourism dominant. The north looks as much towards Chester and Merseyside as it does towards Cardiff.
Tourism is a major employer, and for accommodation, activity and hospitality businesses the website is very often the entire sales process, from first search through to booking.
Welsh language provision is a real consideration, and one that is done badly more often than not. Machine-translating a site is worse than leaving it in English, because a visitor who reads Welsh will notice immediately.
What we noticeIf you offer Welsh, it needs to be properly written and properly maintained. Half a translation reads as a gesture, and a gesture is worse than nothing.
Towns and cities in Wales
Each page covers what the local market actually looks like, not a template with the name changed.
Other parts of the UK
The work is the same wherever it is done, but what local customers search for is not. Each region page is written about that region.

One message is enough to start. I’ll read it and reply myself, usually with a couple of questions and a clear price.
