Is my website any good?
The website check reads your home page the way Google and a customer's phone first see it, and runs about 40 checks across Google, speed, phones, enquiries and security, including Google's own speed test. Every problem comes with a plain fix, and you can check a competitor's site to compare.
It is a first look rather than a full audit. It reads one page, it cannot see where you rank, and it cannot judge whether your words and photos are any good.
What will a website really cost?
Quotes are hard to compare when one is mostly upfront and another is mostly monthly. The cost calculator adds up the total over one to ten years, side by side with any quote you have. Check what each quote leaves out as well: hosting, the domain name, changes after launch and security updates are sometimes included and sometimes extra.
Will a website pay for itself?
A monthly fee is easier to judge as work. Put in what an average job is worth and how much of it you keep, and the jobs calculator shows how many jobs a year cover the website, in the first year and every year after.
For longer answers, the guides cover what a website costs in the UK, why a site does not show on Google and how to choose a web designer.
