How many jobs pay for your website?

Enter what an average job is worth to you and how much of it you keep. The calculator shows how many jobs cover the website in the first year, and every year after.

You make about £90.00 profit a job. The website costs £849.87 in the first year, which is 10 jobs, then £599.88 a year after that: 7 jobs a year.

Based on the sole trader plan with no minimum term. The sum is only as good as the numbers you put in, so use your real figures.

Why think about it in jobs

A monthly fee is easier to judge when you see it as work. If the site only needs to bring in a handful of extra jobs a year to pay for itself, the question becomes whether it will do that, not whether the monthly figure sounds high.

Use your real numbers

Use the average value of a typical job, not your biggest one, and the share you genuinely keep after materials, fuel and your own time. If you are unsure, be pessimistic: the answer is more useful if it is on the cautious side.

What brings those jobs in

A site pays for itself when people can find it and when it makes ringing you easy: your trade and towns on the page, your own photos and reviews, a tap-to-call number and a quick quote form, all linked to your Google Business Profile.

Common questions

Is this the price for every business?
It uses the sole trader plan. Bigger businesses and shops are on different plans; see the pricing page.
What if I only need one or two jobs a year to cover it?
Then the question is simply whether the site will bring in at least that many enquiries you would not otherwise get. For most trades with a working Google Business Profile, that is a low bar.
