Found on Google
Whether Google can list your site, and whether it understands what you do and where: titles, descriptions, headings, local business data, sitemap, robots.txt and how much useful content is on the page.
Speed
Google's own mobile speed test (the same Lighthouse test used in PageSpeed Insights), plus server response, image sizes, compression and scripts that hold the page up.

Why it matters for a local business
Most people now find a tradesperson or local business by searching on their phone and tapping one of the first few results. If your site is slow, hard to use on a phone or doesn't tell Google clearly what you do and where, they tap the next one instead. You never find out about the job you lost.
The fixes are usually simple: a proper page title, a tap-to-call number, smaller photos, reviews on the home page and a clear “Get a quote” button. This check tells you which ones apply to your site.

- Is the website check really free?
- Yes. Your score, the scores for each area and your biggest problems are shown straight away with no sign-up. If you want the full list of every check and fix, enter your email and we'll show it and send you a copy.
- What does the score out of 100 mean?
- It's a weighted score across five areas that decide whether a local business website brings in work: being found on Google (30%), turning visitors into enquiries (25%), speed (20%), working on phones (15%) and trust and security (10%). 90+ is excellent, 75+ is good, below 60 means you're probably losing enquiries.
- Where does the speed score come from?
- We run Google's own Lighthouse test through the PageSpeed Insights service on a simulated mid-range phone, the same test Google publishes. It takes 10 to 40 seconds, so your score updates once it finishes.
- Will checking my site affect it?
- No. We load your home page once, the same way a visitor would, and read your robots.txt and sitemap. Nothing is changed on your site.
- Can I check a competitor's website?
- Yes. After your own check, enter a competitor's site to see your scores side by side.
- I only have a Facebook page. Can I check that?
