A crane-lorry operator covering two counties, with a page written for every town rather than one page listing them all.
What they needed
Louis runs a hiab lorry out of Feock, covering the whole of Cornwall and Devon. The work is won on whether the lorry can physically reach a job, so the site had to answer access questions before anyone picks up the phone.
What we built
- Forty town pages, each written about that town's actual access: the medieval arch at Launceston, the weight-restricted bridge at Bideford, the streets in St Ives that no lorry fits down.
- Service pages for hiab hire, plant transport, container movements, steel and timber, and general haulage, each with its own photographs from real jobs.
- A five-part guide to lorry loader cranes, including what a tonne-metre rating actually means, checked against HSE guidance and the manufacturer's own figures.
- An enquiry form that reaches a Hotmail inbox reliably, which meant getting SPF, DKIM and DMARC right rather than hoping.
Forty towns, forty different pages
Most trade sites covering a wide area publish one page per town from a template, which Google treats as spam and demotes. Every town page here was written separately; measured against each other they share 12% of their wording, and most of that is the header and footer.
