Web design in Selby
Selby sits within practical reach of three cities, which means a business here can realistically serve all of them — but only if the website says so.
The usual mistake is trying to serve all three identically, when they buy quite differently.

Selling to Selby
Worth knowing hereIt sits within reach of three cities, and businesses here can realistically serve all of them if the site says so.
Three cities, three arguments
Leeds is a commercial market where volume and professional presentation matter. York mixes professional, rail and visitor economies. Hull is dominated by port and energy work with an international dimension.
A single page claiming to cover all three persuades none of them, because none recognises its own situation in it. Separate pages, each written to what that city actually buys, do considerably better.
It is also worth deciding which one you genuinely want most. Spreading effort evenly across three cities usually produces three weak positions.
Being between places is an advantage
Lower overheads than any of the three, with access to all of them, is a real argument. Made explicitly — with travel times — it removes the doubt that keeps city clients from enquiring.
Energy, agriculture and light industry
Locally, Selby's own economy is industrial and agricultural, buying on capability and reliability rather than presentation.
Questions people here ask
- Should I target all three cities?
- You can, but on separate pages written to what each actually buys. One page covering all three convinces nobody in particular.
- How do I make the location work for me?
- State travel times and lower overheads plainly. Being between cities is an advantage once the client stops wondering whether you would come.
- Is it better to pick one?
- Often, at least to start with. A strong position in one city beats three weak ones spread thin.
