Websites for yoga studios

Beginners are terrified of walking into the wrong class. Label everything plainly.

The people most likely to become long-term members are beginners, and they are the ones most easily put off. They do not know the styles, cannot tell which class is suitable, and are afraid of being the worst person in the room.

A timetable full of Sanskrit and level numbers is actively hostile to them, however well intentioned.

What your customers want answered

  1. Which class should I go to if I have never done this
  2. What does it cost — drop in, class pass or membership
  3. What do I need to bring and wear
  4. How full are classes and do I need to book
  5. Where do I park and where do I go when I arrive

Describe classes by what happens in themFast or slow, hot or not, how much strength is needed, whether there is chanting, whether people talk. Naming a style tells a beginner nothing; describing the experience lets them choose a class they will actually enjoy and come back to.

A timetable with no explanation

A grid of class names and levels assumes knowledge the newcomer does not have. A short plain-English guide to the first visit is the highest-converting page most studios do not have.

Tell me about your business.

One message is enough to start. I’ll read it and reply myself, usually with a couple of questions and a clear price.
