Websites for tiling contractors
Failures are almost always the substrate. Sell the preparation nobody else mentions.
Customers choose tiles and assume the tiling is the easy part. Almost every tiling failure — cracked grout, lifting tiles, a leaking wet room — comes from what was underneath rather than from the tiles themselves.
A contractor who explains preparation is selling the part of the job that actually determines whether it lasts, and distinguishing themselves from a quote that is cheaper because it skips exactly that.
What your customers want answered
- Do you prepare and level the floor or wall first
- Is the wet room properly tanked, and what guarantee is there
- Can you tile over what is already there
- What does it cost per square metre, and does that include materials
- How long will the bathroom be out of use
Photograph the stage nobody seesTanking membrane going on, backer boards fixed, a floor being levelled, movement joints set out. These are the photographs that prove you do the work a cheaper quote leaves out, and they are far more persuasive to a careful customer than the finished room.
Quoting a rate without qualifying the substrate
A price per square metre that assumes a perfect surface leads to variations, arguments and bad reviews. Saying what the rate assumes, and what preparation typically costs, keeps the job honest.

One message is enough to start. I’ll read it and reply myself, usually with a couple of questions and a clear price.
