Websites for heat pump installers
Customers have read that heat pumps do not work here. Answer that directly, with numbers.
No home technology has a more contested reputation. Anyone considering a heat pump has read that they do not work in old houses, that they cost a fortune to run, and that the radiators all have to be replaced.
Some of that is nonsense and some of it is a fair description of a badly designed installation. The installers who win work are the ones willing to say which is which, in specifics, rather than selling optimism.
What your customers want answered
- Will this actually work in a house like mine
- What will it cost to run compared with what I pay now
- Do my radiators or pipework need changing
- How noisy is it, and where does the outdoor unit go
- Are you MCS certified, and what certificate do I get
Lead with the heat loss surveyA proper room-by-room heat loss calculation is what separates a system that works from one that disappoints, because it determines the flow temperature and therefore the running cost. Explaining that you design from a survey rather than from the size of the old boiler is the most credible thing an installer can say.
Quoting running costs as a single figure
Performance depends on the building, the flow temperature and the tariff. A firm that explains the variables and gives a range reads as competent; one that promises a percentage saving reads as a salesman.
