Websites for electrical testing contractors

Your customers are buying compliance. Tell them what the report means before they get it.

Landlords, letting agents and business owners commission electrical testing because they have to, not because they want to. What they fear is a report full of codes they do not understand, followed by a bill for remedial work they cannot judge.

The contractor who explains the report before they buy it removes that fear. It is also a genuine differentiator, because almost every competitor simply offers a price per circuit.

What your customers want answered

  1. What does a report on a property like mine cost
  2. How long does it take and does the power go off
  3. What do the codes on the report actually mean
  4. Do you do the remedial work, and am I obliged to use you
  5. How quickly do I get the certificate

Explain the classification codes plainlyAn inspection report classifies observations: danger present and potentially dangerous findings make an installation unsatisfactory and require action, while lesser observations are recommendations, and some items simply need further investigation. Setting that out means a landlord opening the report knows immediately what is urgent, which is the whole reason they commissioned it.

Not separating testing from repairs

Clients worry that the firm finding the faults is the firm selling the fix. Saying plainly that they are free to have remedial work done by anyone removes a suspicion that quietly costs work.

Tell me about your business.

One message is enough to start. I’ll read it and reply myself, usually with a couple of questions and a clear price.
