Websites for plant hire companies

Availability and rates. Hiding either sends the customer to the next yard.

Plant hire is a commodity purchase made under time pressure. A groundworker needs a three tonne excavator on Monday and will ring down a list until somebody says yes and quotes a rate.

Every minute of friction loses the booking. A site without rates, without a fleet list and without a clear answer on delivery is simply slower than the competitor who published all three.

What your customers want answered

  1. Do you have the machine I need, and when is it free
  2. What are the daily and weekly rates
  3. Do you deliver, and what does that cost
  4. Is it operated or self-drive, and what licence or ticket do I need
  5. What happens about damage, insurance and fuel

Publish the fleet with specificationsMachine, size, weight, attachments available and transport requirements. A contractor checking whether a machine fits through a gateway or onto a slab needs the dimensions, and the yard that published them gets the call.

Burying the damage waiver

Disputes in this trade are almost always about damage, fuel or extra days. Setting the terms out plainly loses the occasional booking and prevents the arguments that cost customers permanently.

Tell me about your business.

One message is enough to start. I’ll read it and reply myself, usually with a couple of questions and a clear price.
