Websites for interior designers

Clients fear losing control and losing count. Explain how you charge before they ask.

Prospective clients love the images and worry about everything else: whether they will end up with somebody else's taste, whether they can say no, and how much this is going to cost by the time it is finished.

The portfolio handles the first half of that conversation. Almost no interior design website handles the second, which is where the enquiry is actually lost.

What your customers want answered

  1. How do you charge — fixed fee, percentage, or hourly
  2. Do you make money on the furniture you specify, and is that disclosed
  3. What happens if I do not like the scheme
  4. Can you do one room rather than a whole house
  5. Do you manage the trades or do I

Be transparent about trade discountsClients frequently suspect that specification is driven by margin. Explaining plainly how procurement works in your practice, and whether discounts are passed on, converts a private suspicion into a reason to trust you.

Only showing whole-house projects

Many clients want one difficult room solved and assume you would not be interested. Saying that you take smaller commissions opens a large, easier-to-win market.

Tell me about your business.

One message is enough to start. I’ll read it and reply myself, usually with a couple of questions and a clear price.
