Websites for driveway and paving firms

A trade with a doorstep reputation. Depth, drainage and a proper quote are the antidote.

Few trades suffer more from a bad reputation. Enough customers have had a driveway laid on a token sub-base by somebody who knocked on the door that the honest firms are fighting an assumption before they start.

The way out is technical detail. Explaining excavation depth, sub-base construction, edging and drainage gives a customer something to compare, and makes a cheap quote look like the shortcut it is.

What your customers want answered

  1. How deep do you excavate and what goes underneath
  2. Where does the water go, and do I need planning permission
  3. What does it cost per square metre, all in
  4. How long does it take and can I park during the work
  5. What guarantee is there against sinking or weeds

The drainage rule most customers have never heardPaving more than five square metres of a front garden in a material that does not let water through, without directing the run-off to a permeable area, requires planning permission. A firm that raises this and designs for it protects the customer from a problem that only surfaces when they sell.

Galleries with no construction detail

Every competitor has photographs of a finished driveway. Pictures of the excavation, the sub-base going in and the edge restraints are what prove the price difference is real.

Tell me about your business.

One message is enough to start. I’ll read it and reply myself, usually with a couple of questions and a clear price.
