Be specific about the profiles you work withDyslexia, dyscalculia, autism, ADHD, processing difficulties, school refusal, anxiety. Naming what you have genuine experience of, and being honest about what you do not, is what a parent who has been let down by a generalist is looking for.
Promising to catch a child up
Parents in this position have heard that before and know it is not how it works. Talking about confidence, specific strategies and realistic progress is both more honest and more persuasive.
