Websites for pizzerias
You are competing with the chains on speed. Compete with them on being specific instead.
An independent pizzeria cannot out-market a national chain and should not try. What it has is a story the chain cannot tell: a real oven, a proper dough, ingredients from somewhere identifiable.
Customers choosing an independent are usually doing so deliberately, and they want confirmation that it is genuinely different rather than a takeaway with a wood-fired photograph on the wall.
What your customers want answered
- What is on the menu and what does it cost
- Do you deliver, where to, and how long does it take
- Can I collect, and is it cheaper
- Do you do gluten free or vegan bases
- Can I book a table as well as order in
The dough and the oven are the storyFermentation time, flour, the oven and its temperature, where the cheese and tomatoes come from. The details that a chain cannot claim are exactly what justify a higher price, and customers who chose an independent are the audience that cares.
Photographs that are not your pizza
Stock photography in food is obvious and quietly fatal. A phone photograph of your actual pizza, taken in decent light, outperforms a professional image of somebody else's.

One message is enough to start. I’ll read it and reply myself, usually with a couple of questions and a clear price.
