Websites for fish and chip shops
Opening hours and frying times decide everything. Keep them accurate above all else.
A chip shop lives or dies on people knowing when it is open. The hours are unusual, frequently split across lunch and evening, and vary by day in a way that catches customers out constantly.
In a coastal or tourist town there is a second audience entirely: visitors who do not know the town, are choosing between three shops they have never heard of, and are reading reviews on the pavement.
What your customers want answered
- Are you open now, and when do you open today
- What is on the menu and what does it cost
- Do you have gluten free, and which days
- Can I order ahead and collect
- Where can I park
Say where the fish comes fromSourcing, sustainability and whether the fish is fresh or frozen at sea are things customers increasingly ask about, and almost no chip shop website answers. For a shop that buys well, it is a genuine point of difference against the one down the road.
Hours that are wrong on the holidays
Bank holidays, Christmas and the days you close are precisely when people check. Getting those right, on the website and the map listing, prevents the wasted journey that produces an angry review.
